New LES Teacher of the Year Named

Lexington Elementary has named its new Teacher of the Year. Lynn Dempsey, EAGLE Teacher was named Teacher of the Year. Molly Scott, current LES Teacher of the Year recognized Mrs. Dempsey at our last faculty meeting.DSCN3303 - cropped

Lynn Dempsey teaches grades 3-5 Eagles and 2nd grade Primary Time (Formerly known as Brain Boosters). Mrs. Dempsey has a Masters in Education from USC and has Educational Leadership Certification. She was recently recognized nationally with the 2012 1st place PBS Teacher Innovator Award.

DSCN3315 - croppedOur other finalists are Jessica Hanko, 4th grade teacher and Ashlee Young, 1st grade teacher. Mrs. Hanko has her Literacy Specialist endorsement and is currently in the 3rd year of a Ph.D. program in Language and Literacy (USC). Mrs Young is a National Board Certified Teacher working on a Masters of Science in Reading and Literacy.
