LES Students Make SC Elementary Honor Choir

ChoirLexington Elementary School has two students who will be participating in the SC Elementary Honor Choir in February of 2016. Tess Arnold and Lillie Gardner were selected from approximately 550 students who auditioned for the group. Auditions included both singing solos and in harmony. Students were rated with a rubric on their accuracy of pitch and rhythm by a panel of three judges. The choir has approximately 250 students who will participate in Columbia at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center for a concert on February 6th, following a three-day clinic with Ken Berg, director of the Birmingham Boys Choir. Students will sing seven challenging choral selections from memory, including among them a French song. Students will learn the music with their elementary school music teachers and polish the music at the clinic in February.
